![]() Telephone privileges for the general population will be available on a daily basis.This should not preclude emergency telephone calls to designated practicing attorneys in connection with prospective or pending litigation. Inmates assigned to disciplinary detention ordinarily are not provided telephone privileges as a condition of the discipline imposed.Due to the unique housing capabilities of inmates assigned to Administrative Segregation, telephone privileges will be provided for the inmates on a regularly scheduled basis.Inmates assigned to Protective Custody will be provided the same telephone privileges as those available to the general population.Newly admitted inmates will be given the opportunity to complete at least three local or collect long distance telephone calls.The staff of the Public Safety Center will not transfer incoming telephone calls to inmates, nor will they take telephone messages for them under any circumstances. If an inmate is assigned to Administrative Segregation or the Maximum Security section of the Public Safety Center, they will be permitted access to the telephone during their scheduled recreation time.Īll telephone calls are out going only. Telephone calls will be limited to fifteen (15) minutes in duration in order to provide telephone access to all inmates. To utilize the phone, simply lift the receiver and follow the posted instructions. These telephones are available to Inmates at any time during "Inmate Free Time". Inmates confined within the Facilities will have equal and adequate access to telephones in order to maintain community ties and contact with legal representatives.Ĭollect call telephones are located in the day room area of your housing unit. The written document describing the Facility’s philosophy, goals, and policies will be updated as necessary and will be reviewed annually. Staff will participate in the development and implementation of the Facility’s goals and objectives, policies, and procedures. The continuity of family and community contact will be encouraged by appropriate policies governing visiting, telephone usage, volunteer involvement and mail. ![]() ![]() Inmates will be classified to the least restrictive mode of housing with due consideration to the safety of the public, inmates, and staff.Įssentials of human life, i.e., medical and mental health care, nutritious meals, recreation, clean environment, religious counseling, and education opportunity will be provided to all within our care where security permits. The operations of the Facilities will ensure that those remanded to our care are provided with safe, secure, and humane treatment consistent with applicable standards, laws and judicial decisions.Īlternatives to incarceration will be utilized consistent with our responsibility to ensure public safety and protect inmate rights. The Stanislaus County Adult Detention Facilities were designed and constructed to provide the citizens of Stanislaus County with a safe and secure facility that either complies with or exceeds the standards articulated by local, state, federal, and professional agencies.
